How To: Tips & Techniques
Sand for a Smooth Finish
Before beginning any wood finishing project, be sure to sand the wood smooth, using #220 grit sandpaper, following the direction of the wood grain and remove all sanding dust.
Extra Protection for Your Project
For additional protection, without adding color, add a coat of any Minwax? clear protective finish, according to label instructions.
Temperature Matters!
The best temperature to apply a stain and finish is between 55*F and 85*F. Cooler temperatures will slow down the dry time and hotter temperatures will speed up the dry time.
